2196 Marine Drive - Preliminary Public Consultation Event

Join us for an Applicant Hosted Preliminary Public Consultation Meeting

JTA Development Consultants and MCM Architects are working together on a proposal to revitalize the site at 2196 Marine Drive in West Vancouver, introducing a new mixed use development while protecting and enhancing the site's existing heritage resource.

The proposal envisions an 11 storey condominium building with approximately 80 strata homes, along with ground floor commercial space. As part of the proposed Heritage Revitalization Agreement, the existing heritage gas station building would be relocated and reoriented on the site, restored to its original 2 bay form and retained as an important part of the site's history and character.

We are excited to share the vision for the site with the surrounding community and hear your thoughts as the proposal moves through its early stages. The Preliminary Public Consultation Meeting is an opportunity to meet the project team, learn more about the proposal, review conceptual renderings and display materials, ask questions and provide feedback.

About the Proposal

The proposed redevelopment includes:

  • An 11 storey mixed use condominium building

  • Approximately 80 strata residential units

  • Ground floor commercial space

  • Relocation and reorientation of the existing heritage gas station building

  • Restoration of the heritage building to its original 2 bay form

  • Long term protection and conservation of the site's heritage resource through a proposed Heritage Revitalization Agreement

The proposal is intended to complement the existing commercial and residential character of the surrounding area while providing an opportunity to preserve and enhance an important heritage resource on the site.

What's Next?

The proposal is currently at the pre-application stage. A Heritage Revitalization Agreement application will require consideration by District of West Vancouver Council. Further opportunities for public input will be provided through the subsequent planning and approval process, including a Development Information Meeting and Public Hearing, should the application proceed.

Important Note

This is an applicant hosted pre-application meeting and is not a District of West Vancouver function. District of West Vancouver Council may receive a report from District staff regarding issues raised through this meeting and may formally consider the proposal at a later date.
